I'm Back!

Hey everybody! I know, it's been quite a while since my last post! I figured it was about time to tell you all what I've been up to for the past month. Since the Stones weekend, my life has been quite hectic! I guess the "main event" would have to be my brother Matt and sister-in-law Karine's wedding in Ottawa. They were married on October 14th, which is also Darcy's birthday!

So, Mom and I left for Ottawa on October 10th (Tuesday), and my grandmother, aunt Heather and uncle Tom came along in Nan's car at the same time. We actually managed to keep track of each other the whole trip, which surprised me. The whole thing went smoothly except for the traffic jam we hit in Montreal! We were stuck on the "Pont Champlain" , (bridge..for those of you who don't know french..ha ha), for about one and a half hours. That sucked bad! We made a few detours, one being to Alexandria to drop off Nan and Heather, and the other to downtown Ottawa to drop Tom off at his hotel. Mom and I then proceeded to get completely lost, and finally we called Matt for some directions to the Queensway. We arrived about 3 hours behind schedule, but oh well!

The rest of the week was fun..the rehearsal party and wedding were a blast! It was the BEST wedding I have ever attended in my life, very well done guys! I think everyone there had the time of their lives...so many great memories! Unfortunately I have no photos (someone wouldn't give me our camera), but I did take lots with Mom's camera. Matt has all of those pictures, plus lots of others and if you'd like to see them you can check them out on his MSN site.

Anyway, a good time was had by all! Mom and I stayed on till Tuesday the 17th, which was a whole week away for me. It was a nice vacation! Our trip home went very well, no traffic jams, and we made it to the camp road in 11 hours. A first for Mom and I...woo hoo!! That's where I got dropped off..believe it or not! Lots of people really didn't think I was crazy enough to be dropped off in the middle of the woods. Obviously, they don't know this chick very well! LOL

So, Darcy and Mitch were at the end of the camp road waiting to pick me up, and there I remained for the rest of the week till Sunday. Dean and Jade were also there, (actually Jade left on Thursday), and Scott and Kim were up on the weekend. It rained the whole time we were there (apparently I brought the rain with me..or so I was told anyway!) I won't get into detail about the camp trip since it'll be posted on the camp blog eventually..I've got lots of posting to catch up on!!

Anyhew..it's been a busy month. It was back to work on Monday, which was really sucky after being away for 2 weeks. It's SO hard to get back in the groove after vacation. Unfortunately, because of privacy reasons I'm not allowed to discuss work on here, but I can say that on Tuesday I was offered a new position within my workplace. I accepted it, and will start on Nov 6th. I'm pretty excited about it, it'll be nothing like my old job, and I have lots to learn. I think it's a step in the right direction though!

This coming weekend I am going to be very busy yet again. My workplace is sponsering a Big Brothers/Big Sisters fundraiser, and I am volunteering my time from Friday night through to Halloween. They are having a haunted house, it's called, "Fear Factory", and it's open to adults and older kids. It's quite a big project which has been in the works for a few months. Lots of businesses in the community are helping out, and many people are volunteering. Apparently I will be a factory worker/tour guide, should be interesting! They have a website, if you're interested you can check it out here..

So, that's about it for me, for now! Lots going on..never a dull moment! After this crazy "Fear Factory" weekend, my next three weekends will be spent at the camp. Darcy and Dean will be spending a whole week up there deer hunting, I'll just be going up on the weekends (I think I've had enough vacation time this month). Well, that's all for now guys! This turned out longer than I had planned!

Taker easy!

Liss :)
